another reason to get that $1 coin into circulation

so apparently the copper and zinc combo in a penny is worth 1.12 cents. which means that if you were to take that $1 roll of pennies you get from the bank and melt it down, you'd be 12 cents up on the dollar. and according to the new regulations, you also might have to pay up $10,000 and spend five years in the joint.

i got excited for about five seconds until i remembered what Milhouse on The Simpsons once surmised about his prospects in prison (and i paraphrase):
"i can't go to prison! they use guys like me like currency in there!"

indeed they do. i would probably be currency too. which is why i won't be melting down any coins in the near future.
